I have never done anything like this before . It is so much fun! The instructions for the clues are great and I couldn’t wait for the next clue, but I am having trouble understanding the colors.
I started to get my pieces together tonight, so I could start sewing tomorrow morning, but I am confused about which colors to use. On the shopping list you have the background, and colors 1, 2, 3, 4, an inner border, 2nd accent to complement 4 and a main accent . On the cutting sheet there are cuttings directions for the background, colors 1, 2, 3, 4, then a 2nd accent , an accent and no main accent. I had a certain color I wanted for the inner border, but I am not sure how it is listed . Would it be possible to give all the fabrics a number and give instructions for cutting the main accent? Hi Kay!
I did forget to transfer the directions to match (main accent vs. accent). The reason I have 2nd accent is because there are two accent places. I wanted to make the mystery easy to pick colors. I will most likely change it around the next time as this is my first time presenting a mystery.LOL I am used to people seeing the pattern. This is a different format that I am used to using. I am learning a lot and am glad for the encouragement! The inner border is NOT listed due to the fact that everyone’s quilt may vary in size. I’d hate to put what it should be, and someone be about a 1/2″ short! I hope this helps you in your fabric decision making process. Let me know. Have a great day!

Missy – Is there a way to condense the instructions so I don’t have to print so many pages? Could you put more than one picture per page? My computer is in another part of the house and I had to print 17 pages. Does someone out there know how to make it more efficient? Thanks for any help you can advise. BTW – I’m loving the mystery.

Rosemary, Hi there! I wanted to have a big picture. I have a 20D EOS that takes THE most awesome pictures. I know I did take quite a few pictures and with the directions and such I wanted to make this mystery for even beginners to understand. I can make another version of the instructions that have smaller pictures. The directions, I would like to keep because they explain it so that even beginners can follow along. I am glad that everyone is enjoying the mystery and giving lots of valuable information to make things better.
